Graduate Educational & Professional Training (GEPT) is an IFWF graduate-level educational and professional-development program designed to connect advanced research with practical financial systems, nonprofit funding, financial literacy, and economic education.

GEPT combines structured instruction, practitioner engagement, real-world case analysis, independent research, and applied projects to help participants develop the analytical and professional capabilities needed to understand and address real-world financial and economic challenges.

What Makes GEPT Different

GEPT is built around a practical learning model:

Research → Practitioner Exposure → Real-World Case → Analysis → Applied Assignment → Research Output

Participants learn not only concepts, but also how financial and economic systems operate in practice. The program draws upon IFWF's research and educational capacity and, where appropriate, practitioner knowledge from the commercial-finance field.

​Applied Learning

 

GEPT is designed as a small-cohort, research-informed program. Participants are expected to engage actively in instruction, conduct independent research, complete applied assignments, participate professionally with practitioners, and develop a substantive final project demonstrating independent analysis.

The program's learning objectives include the ability to:

Understand major financial systems;
Analyze financial products, risks, capital needs, and funding alternatives;
Research financial, economic, nonprofit, and grantor information;
Apply knowledge to real-world cases;
Communicate professional financial and economic analysis; and
Produce substantive applied research.

 

Pilot Program

IFWF is developing GEPT as a controlled pilot program (Version 1.0). The pilot will allow IFWF to test the curriculum, instructional model, participant workload, practitioner engagement, assessment methods, and program outcomes before expanding the program.

GEPT will incorporate structured evaluation of participant learning, applied skills, research capabilities, and program quality. Findings from the pilot will be used to improve subsequent versions of the program.

 

Building Professional Capacity Through Research

 

GEPT reflects IFWF's broader Research → Education → Professional Development framework.

The program is designed to transform research and practical knowledge into meaningful graduate-level educational experiences while creating opportunities for participants to contribute new research, case analysis, and applied projects.

Version 1.0 is a foundation—not a finished product. IFWF will continue developing and refining GEPT based on participant experience, research, practitioner input, and measurable program evidence.
